Am I suitable for Semi Permanent Makeup?
Semi Permanent Makeup is suitable for most patients who desire an alternative to daily Makeup applications. It is possible to enhance the eyebrows, eyelids, cheeks and lips or disguise hair loss.
Allergic reactions are rare, but we perform a skin sensitivity patch test beforehand to ensure you’re not allergic. It is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and there are a few medical conditions that would preclude you undergoing a Semi Permanent Makeup treatment, but this will be discussed at your consultation. .
What does the Semi Permanent Makeup procedure entail?
During your consultation at Timeless Skincare, your practitioner will take a medical history to ensure you are suitable for the treatment. We will also discuss what you’re hoping to achieve and we can use cosmetic pencils to replicate the look you are hoping to achieve.
Prior to your treatment, a local anaesthetic cream will be applied to numb the area, which will lessen any discomfort. Then the pigments are inserted into the skin by our micropigmentation device that has a very fine needle.
Initially, the treatment area will appear darker but this will lighten over the following days. There may be a small amount of redness, swelling or bruising but this will quickly subside. Your Timeless Skincare practitioner will give you advice on how to care for your skin after your treatment.
What are the benefits of Semi Permanent Makeup?
- Look your best at all times
- An alternative to those that are allergic to cosmetics
- Save time by avoiding lengthy daily Makeup applications or the need for regular top-ups throughout the day
- Possible to correct asymmetrical facial features
What results can I expect from Semi Permanent Makeup?
The aim of the treatment is to create a very natural cosmetic enhancement. If a follow-up treatment is required to top up the pigment or make a correction this will be offered.
The pigments are placed at a more superficial layer of the skin than with conventional tattooing so they will fade over time. Typically, patients will have an annual top-up.
