Your body has the power within itself to create beautiful, radiant skin. We just need to give it a little push to get working. Older skin is often lacking in collagen and elastin. These are naturally produced – just in lower quantities as we get older. Skin Needling aims to encourage your own body to create greater quantities of these essential substances. This effectively helps rejuvenate your skin from within.
Nano needling is a technique where nanoneedles create a series of invisible puncture wounds in the upper layers of the epidermis. The transdermal delivery system forms nanochannels through the skin layers. This increases the absorption of serums and moisturisers – allowing them to penetrate further and increasing their effectiveness.
As the needles used are so tiny – 1/3 of the thickness of a human hair – and penetrate only the top layers (no deeper than 0.15mm) they avoid producing a pain response and you will have almost no downtime. They are formed of mono-crystalline silicone using semiconductor technology. This makes it extremely unlikely that they will cause an allergic response – even in susceptible individuals.
Nano needling is a general purpose exfoliating treatment for all areas of the body. You can even use it on the fragile skin around the eyes and lips. The treatment is suitable for all skin types – including ethnic skins. Additionally, you can combine nano needling with other treatments such as facials, peels or microdermabrasion. In essence, it can form part of a treatment to target any specific issues that you may have.
Nano Needling is best for reducing the appearance of fine lines by stimulating your body to increase skin plumpness. It will also improve skin tone, smooth out the texture of the skin and reduce pigmentation. This includes reducing the appearance of sunspots. It can also help shrink pore size and clear acne (including acne scars). Overall, it will rebalance and refresh your skin and that will show in the healthy glow it stimulates.
For deeper acne scars, older wrinkles, hair regrowth, stretch marks or hyperpigmentation Micro Needling may be a more effective option. This is because the depth and size of the needles will create a stronger and more appropriate response.
